The climb to the peak of Kedarkantha starts from a small village called as Sankri. There are a total of 13 peaks of the Himalayan range visible from the Kedarkantha peak. Kedar kantha is the best place in India to do hiking in Winter With falling winter snow it’s an attractive pictorial view and what’s more attractive, is the view of the Mighty Himalayas from the trails right to the top lying at the altitude of 3,810 meters. This trek is for those who love to do adventure. Beginners are more than welcome to go on this beautiful trek. This trek has the beautiful campsites in the Himalayas, where every site is unique in its own way and does not match the beauty with any other campsites in the journey. This summit is effortlessly accessible any time of the year and offers trekkers a different serene experience in different seasons. In the end, the trail leaves you at the best point of rocky snow included summit from wherein trekkers are rewarded with remarkable 360° bird’s eye views of DhaulaDhar ranges and Godly peaks like Swargarohini, Banderpooch, and Black Peak. Best Time to Visit: Kedarkantha Trek is Beautiful and Pleasant for whole Year. Best time of year include December to April, Expect trekking on the snow in the mid of December. During winters, Kedarkantha covered in the thick blanket of snow best for skiers.
Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Sankri (1,950 m); 190 Km drive from Dehradun (8 hrs.)
The drive from Dehradun to Sankri is an enchanting hill drive of 8-9 hours stretching over 190 Km ride via Mussoorie, Damta, Naugaon, Purola, Mori and Naitwar. You will see the beautiful valleys and forest cover throughout the journey. Sankri is a little village within the Uttarkashi district of Uttrakhand and the last road head to Govind Wildlife Sanctuary. Stay will be in Guest House/Home Stay/Camp on sharing basis. The trail will commence the next morning at 07:30 AM with light breakfast and a brief session of Kedarkantha trek by Trek The Adventures. The cab will be arranged at an additional cost from Dehradun Railway station to Sankri(One Way) at 7:00 AM.
Day 2: Sankri (1,950 m) to Juda Ka Talab (2,773 m) (3-4 hrs.)

Day 3: Juda Ka Talab (2,773 m) to Kedarkantha Base Camp (3,429 m) (3 hrs.)

Day 4: Kedarkantha Base Camp (3,429 m) to Kedarkantha Summit (3,810 m) and descend to Hargaon (2,575 m) (8 hrs.)
It is a long day today, but the excitement of the journey and conquering the peak would be far greater and much more worthy in compared to the challenges that lay ahead for the visitors. The climb is steep however absolutely worthwhile and one with rewarding views. As soon as you move slowly dense forest trails surrounding by Pine trees start to disappear slowly. It takes about 2 hours to reach there. On the summit, you are surrounded by mountain valleys and ranges. Panoramic sights of mighty Himalayas range mixed with dark blue and white clouds scattered like a painting sketched by nature just for you. You will see the Dhauladhar range, Chainsheel Pass, Har ki Dun valley and Rupin valley. Swargarohini also comes into view along with Black Peak and Bandarpoonch. Some of the other peaks you see include Gangotri, Jaonti, Yamnotri, Jorkanden and Draupadi ka Danda. After spending some time on the top, you head back to the campsite, have lunch at a middle point of descending at the basecamp and head towards Hargaon. After a wonderful day, spend the night in tents.
Day 5: Hargaon (2,575 m) to Sankri (1,950 m) (6 hrs.)
Day 6: Drive to Dehradun from Sankri (8 hrs.)

Jolly Grant airport is located 25 kilometers from the city, serving to Dehradun. Daily flight from Delhi to Dehradun.
By Train:-
Take the train from Delhi to Dehradun overnight

By Bus:-
Regular bus service is available from Delhi (ISBT Kashmere Gate) to Dehradun. We suggest that you take only government buses from the ISBT Kashmere Gate. Private buses run from outside ISBT Kashmere Gate and they are not trustable.
Usually, the buses left you in the Dehradun ISBT. From there you have to come to Dehradun railway station via Ola/Uber Cab/Auto Rickshaw/Shared Three Wheeler.
There is only one bus run by the Uttrakhand Government on a daily basis from Dehradun Railway Station to Sankri. The timing of the bus: 08:00 AM. You would reach the Sankri by 06:00 PM.
- Sturdy hiking boots: preferably all leather upper as it provides better ankle support. If you do not own a pair yet, it is advisable that you buy one as soon as possible & wear it often so that they are well broken. This will help prevent blisters.
- Light weight tennis shoes/sandals: for wearing in camp.
- Wool socks: 2 pairs: preferably thick wool socks.
- Nylon socks: 2-3 Pairs, of the type you wear daily to be worm under the wool socks to prevent blister.
- Hiking shirt: 1 Preferably long sleeve. Long John top: 1 also known as thermal underwear, preferably wool to be worm as first layer.
- Warm shirts & pants for camp : 1 each
- Rain cot 1 each
- Warm Jacket : 1
- Woolen gloves : 1 pairs as thick as available in the market.
- Long John bottoms : Preferably wool to be worm as first layer.
- Under wear : 2-3 changes
- Hiking shorts / pants: 1
- Sun hat : Cotton or nylon.
- Sun Glasses : Preferably with an anchor
- Sun Protection Lotion : optional
- Lip balm / chap stick : optional
- Water bottle: 2 Bottles of 1 Liter capacity.
- Head lamp / flashlight: Preferably a headlamp as it leaves your hands free to work please bring extra batteries.
- Toilet articles: Tooth brush, tooth paste, etc...

- If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 15% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- If cancellations are made within 30-15 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- If cancellations are made within 15-0 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and in such cases the operator will try his best to provide an alternate feasible activity.
- However no refund will be provided for the same.

- Day 1 : Dehradun to Sankri (Base Camp)
- Day 2 : Sankri (6455ft) to Juda ka talab (9100ft)
- Day 3 : Juda ka talab to Kedarkantha base (11,250ft)
- Day 4 : Kedarkantha base to Kedarkantha peak (12,500 ft) and descend to Hargaon (8900 ft)
- Day 5 : Har Gaon to Sankri (Base Camp)
- Day 6 : Departure. Drive back to Dehradun

ATM POINT AND MOBILE CONNECTIVITY
Purola has the last ATM point before you reach Sankri (Basecamp) if you need to withdraw money.
Purola is the last place before you reach Sankri (Basecamp) where you’re likely to get a stable mobile signal and at Mori, you’re likely to get Jio Network only. This is about 2 hours before Sankri, the base camp. Finish all your important phone calls here and inform anxious family members about limited phone connectivity.
